From the Managua airport: Exit the airport and go right on the Carretera Norte heading towards Tipitapa. At the traffic circle take the left fork (lakeside) and stay on this road for 10 km or so until you come to a major intersection – go right and follow signs for Masaya. Stay on this road for approximately 25 km until it dead ends at the Carretera Masaya – go left. You will pass Pollo Narcy and a couple of gas stations as you go through the edge of Masaya. Just outside of town you will come to an intersection with the option to go straight to Granada or right to Nandaime – turn right. Go roughly 15km through Catarina and San Juan de Oriente until you reach another fork – again go towards Nandaime (right), not Granada (left). After 10km or so on this road you will come to the Pan American highway – go left towards Nandaime and Rivas. Pass through Nandaime and go about 50km to Rivas. Just as you are entering Rivas, there are signs on the right for the town of Tola and “Rancho Santana” – turn right there (f you reach the traffic circle, you’ve gone about 200 meters too far). This road will dead-end within 1km – go right towards Tola (about 10km away). Once you reach Tola, drive through town on the same road, passing the large Catholic church and the central park. Turn left at the stop sign at the end of the park. About one block down you will take a right onto a dirt road; this is the Tola beaches road. Follow this road for another 10km or so to the Gigante Beach turn-off. There will be several signs at the turn off: Hotel Brio, Aqua Spa, Selva del Mar, Tola Bay Towers, etc. Head approximately 5 km along this dirt road to Hotel Brio. Hotel Brio is on the right (blue curving masonry entryway), just 300 meters before you arrive at the beach.
**Please don’t forget that we can provide airport pick-up and drop-off for $100-120 each way per group. We can also arrange to have you picked up in San Juan del Sur, Rivas, or Granada. Check out Paxeos; they will take you directly from the airport to Hotel Brio for $120. Alternatively (especially if you arrive at night) you can catch the Paxeos shuttle from the airport to Granada ($15/person), spend the night in Granada, then catch their Granada-Rivas/San Jorge Shuttle at 8:30AM the next day ($15/person). From Rivas a taxi to Gigante is $30 (we’ll pick you up or send a taxi).
